Jack Templar Monster Hunter: The Templar Chronicles: Book One

Jack Templar, Monster Hunter - Jeff Gunhus What alternative title would you choose for this book? I wouldn't pick anything different. This title suits the story and main character perfectly. Loved the cover as well.

Share a quote or two from the book. The tagline was my favourite - "If you're not a monster hunter, put this book down immediately." There were very few faults in this book. I did feel at times that he was prepping readers for a big finish that never really came.

Share a favorite scene from the book. The battle scenes were my favourite. They were gritty, and action packed. It was like Harry Potter meets the Narnia Chronicles.

Some Are Sicker Than Others - Andrew Seaward Do you find the characters convincing? Are they believable? Compelling

The characters seem real, but I didn't like reading about their lives.

What did the title have to do with the book?

Addicts are addicts, but I guess some are more sick than others.

What do you think the author was trying to accomplish with this novel?

Just wrote a graphic book about family people with addictions.

Be Good

Be Good - Dakota Madison What would the main character be likely to do if s/he visited? Anna would talk about how life should be lived but addictions are different for everyone. She would tell everyone to learn from their mistakes not keep repeating them.

What are the most revealing scenes? Most of the last 1/3 of the book when Rebecca appeared. This was at the last wedding in Las Vegas.

Did you find that the cover and title represented what the story was really about? No I do not feel the cover or title represent the story. Cover is lacking, and the title makes me think the book is for teenagers.

Refuge - N.G. Osborne List the characters and describe them. Charlie - Brash American Aid Worker. He had a good heart and was strong minded. He was charismatic and he loved Noor with all his heart. Noor - was 23 years old. She was a teacher and her students were 12 years old. She was beautiful and she wanted to study in America. She was independent and she took care of her sister and father. She loved Charlie. Aamir - Noor's father. He loved to read. He was realistic. He wanted the best for his daughters. He was open minded and didn't want to marry Noor off. He wanted her to have a good education. Wanted her to make her own choices. Tariq - Noor's brother. Very bitter and cruel man. He was a murderer. Killed his own father. He was in the Prince's army. He promised the Prince Noor, so he could promote his career. Very evil man. Wali - Charlie's right hand man at work and in life. He didn't have any family, they had all been killed. Wali was Charlie's deputy. He went to live with Charlie after the accident that blew both his legs off.

Who was your favorite character? Charlie - He was such a giver. He had a good heart. So compassionate, he always gave his best.

Did you find this book a quick read? It was a pretty quick read. Lots of stuff going on.

Our Little Secrets - Merry Farmer Was the book different from what you expected? I knew the book was a historical romance, I just was not expecting it to be an adult romance.

What did you like about it? Charlie not allowing others to push her around. She used her stepfather just like he used her.

Too Many Secrets (Cleo Sims Mystery #3) - Lynn Osterkamp What have you read that is similar to this book? The book club has read several paranormal books and several mystery / whodunit books. But none of them has the unique twist and setting this book had.

At the end of the book, do you feel hope for the characters? I feel hope that Cleo and Pablo will finally settle into a better understanding in their relationship.

What makes a minor character memorable? Gayle, she would go to any length to find/help a friend.

Blown Circuit  - Lars Guignard If you were to talk with the author, what would you want to know? What comes next for Mike and the quest to find his father? I feel this question needs to be answered at some point in the series. Almost makes me draw similarities to the American TV series, Chuck.

What other books has this author written? Ghost Leopard

Did this book remind you of anything that has happened to you? Never been through anything like this although I don't think I would want to. All that action would make me dizzy.

Was the story credible? The characters credible? The story and characters were credible and I can definitely see something like this happening in the future, if it hasn't happened already.

Lessons from the Lemonade Stand: A Common Sense Primer on Investing - James Berman What will be your lasting impression of the subject?
How easy it is to company investing and stock to apples and oranges. This simple easy to approach method explains the complex stock market.

What did you like least?
Did not really have anything to dislike. I would enjoy reading more on the subject if Berman wrote additional books. I felt he explained this better than my economics professor from 40 odd years ago.

Was it a good book?
This was a great book. So helpful with easy to understand language.

Amidst Traffic - Matthew Kovalcik (Photographer) Favourite scene …. When Thomas wakes up. This maybe a fiction book, but to this reader it proves my belief in God.

Did the book end the way you expected? I was unsure on how the book was end. I did not know what direction the author was taking until the end. Still a little unsure, but in the process of reading the book again.

Which characters do you particularly admire or dislike? Not fond of Victor and Adren. These two were shown more as hitmen. Still trying to figure out how they received their information.

Time Killer - Todd M Thiede What is the time period in which the book happens? Happened during current times. There is talk about electronics, cellphones, DNA samples.

What did the title have to do with the book? Time Killer – people killing time but it is not just their own time they are killing.

Did this book give you any new ideas about yourself? Know what I want when going to get coffee. You never know if the next person is crazy or sane. He might just want revenge for wasting his time.

Pain and Gain - The Untold True Story - Marc  Schiller
Is the title a good one or a poor one and why? The title was perfect and made more sense in the end. How much pain you go through and how much you gain may mean different things to different people. The entire book was breath taking. Couldn't put it down until I knew Marc had received some kind of justice.

Did you like the way the story ended? I did and this is still one of the best books, I've ever read .

At the end of the book, do you feel hope for the characters? I feel great hope for this family.

Diary of a Beverly Hills Matchmaker - Marla Martenson Which did you find more appealing, the introduction or the conclusion? Ending was perfect.

What I didn't like. The email and constant abuse by Greg was a little tedious

If you could rewrite the ending, would you? I would have her explore her relationship with her husband more.

Kaleidoscope World

Kaleidoscope World - Tomica Scavina
Why would you recommend or not recommend this book? I will definitely recommend this book for the idea and concept alone. It's so original and captivating that you can't help but become engrossed with Dahlia and the old apartment.

How does the setting figure into the book? The old apartment is a central part of Dahlia's character. She cannot live in the present until she has dealt with the ghosts from her past.

What I liked – I liked plot. It's not everyday you read a book like this and it changes from self-discovery to thriller in a way that will have you glued to the book. Really wish the book can be made into a movie or tv series.
